For the past month, I decided to live like a manifesting guru, fully embracing the “flow state” by visualizing my desires as if they already existed, allowing reality to catch up. This wasn’t my first foray into manifesting—I’ve had some experiences in the past that made me a believer, like the time I visualized being accepted for a job, and it happened exactly as imagined, with the offer coming through the moment I landed at the airport. Since then, however, I’ve had moments of doubt, wondering if the universe really responds to our imaginations. But for this month, I leaned all in, immersing myself in the promise of abundance.
This experiment had some real surprises. Some manifestations happened almost instantly, while others felt like they were brushing up against my inner limitations. Here’s how it went.

The Manifesting like a guru Journey Begins
I set my first goal: reach a thousand TikTok followers. Almost immediately, fears and self-limiting beliefs about being visible began surfacing. I scaled my goal down to 500, then to 300, and finally settled on 200—a number that felt realistic yet still a stretch. I kept posting and interacting on TikTok as usual, and even created a new account dedicated solely to spirituality. This change felt refreshing, and I removed all the “guru” accounts from my writing TikTok to keep it separate.
Oddly enough, just the act of believing I’d hit 200 followers took away my TikTok obsession. I became less attached to the result and focused on other desires, like a new bed my husband and I needed but hadn’t budgeted for. Within days, we found a perfect deal that fit exactly into our budget, even matching a Pinterest photo I’d saved ages ago. I’d been holding out for a year, thinking the bed was beyond reach, but somehow, things aligned.
I Manifested Numerous Things
Other manifestations happened effortlessly. For example, one afternoon at the park, I thought about a book I wanted to read. My husband went back to our apartment to grab a book he wanted me to read, but when he returned, he was holding the exact one I’d imagined. It was as if he’d subconsciously picked up on my intention. Similar coincidences kept happening: a book I nominated for our book club won, even though the other choice was a popular nyt bestselling book unlike mine.
A Strange Twist
I even experimented with transmutation spells, like saying, “Whenever anyone thinks about me, positive or negative, money flows to me.” Shortly after, on a trip to LA, we encountered bed bugs—a nightmare scenario with a hostile Airbnb host. Surprisingly, we ended up getting a full refund. Moments like these made me think, “Maybe there’s something to this.”
I manifested my TikTok followers and Self-Limiting Beliefs
Although I was manifesting small things, TikTok growth still lagged, and I began to see how my beliefs around visibility were holding me back. I wasn’t fully comfortable being “seen,” and it was creating resistance. I focused on the idea of building a community rather than just gaining followers, which felt more aligned. I was listening to random wants strangely enough I started to delve back into sidereal astrology and it really made sense to me that spirituality and my creative endeavours are who I am. So I felt maybe I should start combining this. So I start following the spiritual influencers on my main tiktok again and other interesting people. Literally 1 or 2 nights before the end of the month. Then I woke up to over 220 followers the next day. A combination of real people and a lot of spirituality bots! It was not what I had in mind but I guess that’s the category of only 200 followers that some ought to be bots.
It was still a breakthrough—it felt like a major block was lifting, even if slowly.
The Challenge of Deep-Rooted Beliefs
This month taught me that manifestations without deeply ingrained beliefs or fears tend to show up almost immediately. But the things I’d been striving for over the long term, like TikTok growth, required me to confront my fears and attachments first. I’m still working on feeling at ease with visibility, but this experiment has shown me that inner work is essential.
If there’s something you’re trying to manifest, I encourage you to consider: what beliefs might be blocking you? And if you’re curious, let me know if you’d like to follow along on my journey as I continue exploring this approach over the coming months! For immediate results I am going to be focusing on self limiting beliefs relating to security for the next month. Follow the journey! I will be using meditation, somatic healing and other techniques.
